Why Bodyboarding?
Bodyboarding is a great way to improve your body’s muscular strength while having a great time in open water. Here are some of the key health benefits:
- Improves the muscular strength of your arms, with strong directional paddling sometimes required.
- Develops leg muscles, with the legs initially propelling the bodyboard in the water.
- Boosts coordination skills, with concentration and balance required to stay on the board.
- Refreshes the mind, with the combination of the sea air and bracing waves providing the perfect environment.
- Helps to strengthen the cardiovascular system, with the heart and lungs working more effectively to pump oxygen round the bloodstream to the body’s muscles.
What equipment do you provide?
Bodyboards – Our bodyboard fleet is constructed from durable foam making them an ideal choice for beginner riders. Suitable for all ages they are extremely buoyant and great fun in the surf. We have various sizes available for both adults and children. Being soft, risk of injury is minimised.
Wetsuits – All of our hire suits are made by Ion. They are a minimum of 5/4mm thick and will keep you warm for whatever the North Sea throws at you! We have sizes which range from Jr Age 4 to Adult 5XL.
Boots – Our boots are 5mm zipped. They are super warm and have highly durable soles with extra grip. We have sizes which range from JXXS Kids – 13 Adult.
Gloves – The Vissla 7 Seas 5 Finger 3mm wetsuit gloves we offer are wind resistant. Their sealed seams and pre-formed cuffs are designed to limit water ingress.
Hoods – We provide Vissla North Seas 3mm cold water hoods. These detachable, thermal lined hoods will feel snug and lighter.
What should I bring?
We do ask that you bring along a spare change of clothing and a towel. Our surf shop is positioned on the beachfront. We have newly refurbished changing rooms, toilets, and free lockers to keep your belongings safe while you’re in the water.

FAQ's
Once you have arrived at the surf shop, we will show you where the kit is and assist you with finding the correct size equipment. We will offer any safety advice that is required for the weather and sea conditions on the day. Then you will be shown to our private changing rooms where you can get ready for your session!
Once you are ready, head back downstairs and our team will hook you up with a board and let you know where it is best for you to position yourselves in the bay according to your skill level, and off you go!
