Tiny Tuna’s Watersports Club
Come join our awesome (3 – 5 years) Tiny Tuna’s Watersports Club! It’ll be a great introduction to life in the water. Building confidence, making new friends, and having loads of fun.
The Tiny Tuna’s club emphasis is on safety, fun, and gradual confidence building. We will do this in a friendly environment with fully qualified Surfing England & SLSGB instructors all of whom are fully DBS checked.
These extra special lessons are designed with child participation in mind. They provide opportunity to learn about beach safety and sea awareness.
Lessons are held in small groups of no more than 8 Tiny Tuna’s ensuring maximum safety. Bodyboarding takes place in shallow water, no deeper than the child’s knee, and we work with an absolute maximum of 1:8 (instructor to student) ratio. This ensures the club is safe and gives each child an equal opportunity to hone their skills with the instructor!
Suitable bodyboarding and safety equipment is provided to all students.
If you want your child to gain confidence in the sea, around others, and learn something new, then the Tiny Tuna’s is perfect!

We recommend you bring water, a change of clothes, and swim shorts.
We accept children aged 3 – 5 years. For insurance purposes, we cannot accommodate children under 10 years of age without a parent/carer staying with them.
Children aged over 14 years of age may need to participate in our adult group lessons, which are more suitable for their learning and ability level.
We have a minimum size wetsuit of JXXS so if your child is a particularly small 3-year-old please inform a member of staff when booking.
No, all Tiny Tuna’s will only go a maximum of knee deep and for many it will be their first experience in the sea.
Lifejackets are not necessary for any our water based activities. Children are provided with a wetsuit which will keep them buoyant. All our Little Tuna’s lessons are conducted in water which is less than waist deep. Our coaches are qualified beach lifeguards and SLSGB approved.
Children must be accompanied to and from the session.
We do ask that all parents/carers are available at the beginning to help kids into their wetsuits and help them carry their equipment to and from the beach.
You must be available at the end of the session to help your child change out of their wetsuit. Due to child protection laws, staff are unable to help your child with this alone.
